Atlas was not an ordinary wizard. For one his father was an escaped killer and he grew up in an orphanage. But there was also something else, he had burning want to learn all types of magic.
Yes, all types of magic.
And it needs to be perfect. If it was potions, defence against the dark arts, charm or transfiguration, it all needed to be perfect.
But his want for knowledge expanded beyond just school subjects. Banned jinxes, ancient magic and the forbidden curses.
Everyone thinks this is just him being a perfectionist, and well it is in the start, but it becomes so much bigger than that.
