【𝗧𝗮𝗶𝗹𝘀 𝘅 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗲𝗿】

First his hearing came to him, his sensitive ears twitched with picking up a ritmic beeping sound. Then his touch, he feel the soft meters of sheet and the warmth of blanket surrinding his body, a soft pillow behind his head. His body aching only a little. And then his smell... he grimace softly with the bitter smell with undertones of the artificial fragrance containes soaps and cleaners... is this antiseptic? Where... is he? He had a bitter taste in his mouth. His throat pretty dry, hurting him when he try to swallow. Then finally his sight... blinking the blur away, his eyes opening to a white room, he squint his eyes because of the sunlight slipping in through the window next to him, blinding him.

He slip out a groan out of his lips, after his brain start to work again, trying so hard to make sense of this situation. He hissed trying to starighten up to analyze around himself, leaning on the frame of the bed with a sigh. A headache piercing through his head. He forced his heavy hand up to his head and tried to stop the pain. With the pain, his memories became more confused and blurred. Still couldn't understand or remember what's going on, he felt more anixious by the minute.

Before he can panic, a hand softly gripped his shoulder, gently urging him back towards the welcoming pillows. Seeing a blurry image of a royal blue figure his rapid heart beat slows down.

Releazation downs on him, he tries to run his hoarse throat for the first time in months as he laid back with his soft touch, "S-Sonic...?"

A single tear runs along my cheek as I give him a weak smile but all I saw were his beautiful emerald eyes filled with anything but joy but instead filled with worry, sorrow, fear. It ached to see them filled with such negative emotions. Before he could protest or before I had the chance to change my mind and run into his arms to feel his warm embrace, to forget everything that was actually going on, I jump. I knew there was no other option for me.. for us. As I feel gravity pull me closer and closer to the ground, I could feel the tears slide down my face. I shut my eyees tightly and hold my breathe, preparing for impact. SPLASH! The world around me is freezing and I feel as cold as ice, but my skin burns and almost feels as though its on fire.. A polluted city was being attacked from the robots that were supposed to be servants but somehow they malfunctioned. We go to the top of a building as we see a shadowy figure sitting down at the edge of the tower with one leg dangling down from the roof and the other bent on top of the edge as the figure rested its arm on top of its knee gazing down at the polluted city. Everything is... gone. There's nothing left for me to do. All I have are my two sons, my only daughter, and my friends. I just don't know what to do anymore. My wife is gone, robots are taking over the planet, and what's worse... is that I'm supposed to be a hero. I'm Sonic. Sonic The Hedgehog and my wife Amy Rose has died to protect our children. Now it's my job to protect planet Mobius with the help of my younger brother, Miles "Tails" Prower, a red Echidna named Knuckles, two hedgehogs, Silver and Shadow. A desperate Tails captures Shadow to interrogate him for his role in Sonic and Amy's abduction. Hooking up Shadow to a device to try to extract some information, Tails surprises both of them with how far he is willing to go to get what he's after. Is he doing it for Sonic, for science, or for some other reason? I saw this set of drawings by CyanAltar (https://www.instagram.com/p/C47tIB2op97/?img_index=1) of evil, mad scientist Tails with a frightened Shadow attached at his head to a machine. I tried to write a reasonable story for how and why that could have happened. This is what I came up with. I did my best to keep everybody relatively in character, while understanding that the original drawing shows two characters with expressions that are extremely atypical of them, so I had to write them into that position, which was fun. With this revelation in mind, things start to happen between the Freedom Fighters. Everyone is hurting each other and themselves, whether they wanted this or not. They could never have avoided this outcome. They are no longer fucking kids, and they know it.
