The moment Alex wakes up trapped, wet and confused in a dark cage, she knows something is wrong; but she doesn't understand how wrong, and neither do the Gladers. Everything starts to fall apart in the Glade the moment she shows up, but why? Why is she so different. It can't be just because she's the only girl, there has to be more.

She would fight and defend those boys until her last breath.  She pulled back on the string as hard as she could and released her arrow.
