Arathiel. Sister to Elrond and elf of Rivendell. Daughter of Half-Elven parents, Arathiel has been battling her mortal and immortal nature for her entire life. She has walked Middle-Earth for centuries. From before the creation of Mordor and the rise of Sauron to the day that The Ring resurfaced for the final time. Arathiel watched it happen. She watched as The Ring was forged and she swore an Oath to destroy it. 

Now, after years of being lost in time, The Ring has been found and the Fellowship to cast it to fires of it's origin has been tasked. Her one and true purpose on Middle-Earth has shown itself. She can finally finish what it was she set out to do, but nothing is as easy as that. Arathiel knows this more than most. 

She has never loved in her life. No love more than that she felt for her brother or own kind. That familial love that didn't fade. She feared to fall so deeply for someone. She had seen heartbreak and she had seen loss, and yet, perhaps love isn't what she fears, but rather who it is her heart softens for. Who, in her thousands of years, breaks that wall of ice.

She was raised by her elvish mother, but when her mother died, Sauron took the girl. He raised her on what he believed is best for Middle Earth. Which was having him rule it. Meldiriel started to question her father as she got older. When he sends her places to bring darkness into the world, she meets an elf prince. Unfortunately, the damage done by them from the influence of Suaron and his treachory the damage was done. Which is when the Valar decide to pay them all a visit, and inform them of the doom that will shortly befall this once great kingdom. At first she thought that her dream many moons ago, of a great wave crashing into the buildings and destroying everything in its path was just a nightmare. However, it was the visit from the Valar which sadly confirmed, the very things she was afraid would be true. In order to ensure the safety of her people, Miriel bravely steps up and makes the ultimate sacrifice by staying behind, an action that absolutely horrifies the son of Amandil. So, the great queen regent, and the captain of the sea guard, share one last night of full of passion and love together before they get separated seemingly, for the foreseeable future in their eyes. This adult romance is full of love and mutual desire, but also doesn't shy away from the sheer grief experienced from losing the one that was so close to their heart.
