In a world populated by winged humanoids, called Avians, there's a legend that everyone knows of and most everyone believes -- There are butterflies that follow the most pure Avians around as helpful guides. Why do the butterflies do this? There are multiple theories, from ancestors of the Avians to even being sent from gods as guardian Spirits.
However, No one really knows..
You may be wondering, if this is just a legend, why is it believed by most Avians?
Well the legend is true. However, as decades went by it's became a rarer sight..
Most of the time these butterflies started to help in secret for reasons nobody really understands.
This story, however, is of one of those Avian guided by butterflies who hid, and how that changed..

There are actually quite a few nonhumans/monsters, both turned and born. Madeleine is a turned creature, given wings and feathers by the Divine. There are many other such creatures, including Espresso. If that makes you uncomfortable in any way, you've been warned. You don't have to read this, you know. Also there's gay (of course) and they're both transgender because I said so and I wanted to make Madeleine suffer period cramps. Don't be homophobic. I probably won't be adding smut to this one (though if I make a book 2 there might be), so don't get your hopes up. --- This cover was done by me in watercolor! I'm not bothering to add words to it. Xisuma noticed him approaching the group. "I see this is everyone who'll be coming today." He informed them all, a few heads turning to greet Grian how greeted them back. "That is all I suppose." Mambo replied with a nod, "So why exactly are we here?" he spoke again, asking the question that everyone gathered around was wondering. Xisuma just side, stepping aside letting everyone quickly gather around. Everyone around became puzzled at the sight in front of them. "....What...is that..." Someone within the crowd had asked in a clearly perplexed tone. "An egg idiot." Another voice piped up from within the crowd. Said egg was currently resting on what seemed to be a rushed nest of sorts. The egg was not an ordinary egg that's for sure, it was significantly bigger compared to a chicken's egg, it one could have assumed to was some sort of dragon egg (which grian heard someone suggest) but the egg was smaller than that and a whole different colour (which was a clean white somehow). Something for years has been catching the children and returning them with no apparent harm or knowledge of what happened.
