Sunlight wishes and Moonlight kisses

Most of Theresa's background is unknown. Where she came from, who her parents were, why she was left in the nook of a decaying log, covered in dirt and debris just off a trail of a North Carolina nature park. She was brought up in an orphanage till the age of 6 before she was shuffled through the fostering system. But Theresa realized more and more as she grew up that people seemed to avoid her. Mother's would pull their children close to them as she passed, never allowing them to play with her. Others would stare disdainfully and mutter under their breath. Theresa knew she was different from the start. She never wanted pretty things like the other little girls wanted. She would rather read the old dusty books from the school library or play outside in the mud by herself. She'd climb trees and at the end of each day came home with fresh scrapes and bruises. Theresa even as a little girl flat out refused to wear a dress or a skirt, not understanding why she had to be 'girly'. As she grew older and all the other girls began chasing boys, she secluded herself to her room, studying, learning or reading and that's how it's been since.
