The once-green plants and animals had died off, and the once-bustling oceans had turned into barren wastelands. People flock, leaving homes, small towns for the industrial metropolis of Free Hamport, where the hope of survival still flickered like a candle in the wind.

Enzo, a very shy 14-year-old immigrant, is one of many who felt completely overwhelmed by Free Hamport's size and busyness. One day he runs away from school and winds up meeting Lily - a brave, confident and bubbly individual, who is everything Enzo isn't. But despite their differences, they quickly become friends.

Enzo and Lily find a map that leads to the Heart of the Earth. What they don't know is that this find wasn't a mere accident. Why did someone want Enzo to find the map? What secret does Free Hamport hold? What does the journey hold for him?

Set off on an adventure unlike any other, where the limits of what is possible are pushed and the unknown becomes real. The more Enzo investigates, the more mysterious it becomes, the more dangerous it becomes, and the higher the stakes are. Get ready for an adventure of a lifetime, full with magic, danger, and awe.

A dystopian young adult novel involving romance, secret experiments on human subjects, and a group of teenagers' will to survive. Reader Comments: "I'm gonna gush about your book real quick...all the technology has a purpose and is beautifully explained so I can picture it in my mind...the whole concept of the book is completely original...*moment of silence for your beautiful arch of character development* everything your characters do is strictly them but they develop enough to show more about themselves without you straight up telling the reader about them" -Vairl9023 "Ahh!!! This is so good!! You will understand it easily, but we have to point it out!
