Cristen Scott has never liked group projects. So when she's assigned one as part of her English finals, she doesn't think life could get any worse.

Well, it could.

It just so happens that her partner is the black sheep of Danksworth University.

Aiden Black has nothing left to lose, and that's just how he likes it. So what if it's a bit lonely at times? It's safe. It's the way it should be. And the girl he is partnered with is definitely not going to change that.

Good thing Cristen's always loved a challenge.

As Cristen begins to get to know Aiden, she realizes there might be more to him than just a grumpy persona or lack of social skills. And Aiden realizes it might not be so bad to let someone else into his life.
