The Suicide Hotel is a book that follows Detective Lawrence Mayston in the 1950s as he investigates a string of hotels opened by The U.S. Government, according to what the U.S. Government had told the press, Suicide Hotels are a suicide prevention program countrywide that intend to flatten the recently increasing suicide rates, the intention is to allow guests to stay in a hotel for mental help, so that they may recover, eventually, when a patient is deemed "healthy", they are released, however, what the government didn't tell the press is just what happens should a guest not recover, as in: if recovery doesn't occur within a week, the Hotel offers its' guests tools used in suicide, with little to no regard for what happens to said guest and tools, simply listing them as having "Checked Out" of the hotel, Lawrence decides to check into one of these hotels for himself and slowly discovers just how deeply disturbing it goes, involving a scandal about mental health, lies about the hotel, and the true dangers the Hotels can prove. Each chapter of the book follows Lawrence and the group of patients at the hotel, all representing a certain topic or feeling, with each chapter being 1 week at the hotel, ending with someone dropping dead.
