But Gavin was born a Dávoln: a race of two souls whose very existence spites the gods' wills. He should've been killed at birth, but now it is far too late, he and his Demon sentenced to eternal punishment at the Cearte's hands. That is, until he meets Aoife, a girl with strange, purple fire that defies all rules of magik. She is ridiculous, naive even, but she is powerful: enough to get him out of there. Enough to challenge the very system the Cearte fight so hard to protect.
