The cold.

The fucking freezing cold.

That's all I can feel other than the body heat and breathing of my three-year-old daughter who's strapped to my chest under my coat. Running through a forest as fast as I can towards town, saying goodbye to the house I thought I would spend my life in, but he ruined it. My now ex-fiancé, the "father" of my child, and my abuser. I've been in this never-ending forest for what feels like hours then I see it, the lights of a building. I take off towards the door, praying it's unlocked and to my luck it's not. I look down at my daughter thanking god that she is still asleep. I stand in the dimly lit doorway as my exhausted beaten body tells me to rest. I know that if I don't sit down in the next ten seconds my knees will buckle. So, as I slide my back down the wall beside the door and my vison starts to darken, I see large figures coming towards me from the inside of building. I felt the warmth surround me as someone opened the door and just as I lose consciousness, I hear a deep voice say, "What the fuck?!"
