Inspired by the book series The Selection and for all the Avad lovers out there! ❤️ (You are out there, aren't you?)

The city of Meridian has been peaceful since remains of the Shadow Carja and its sub-factions are scattered. Sun-King Avad has had his heart broken twice: one by a woman who was taken from him too soon and another whose calling in life lay elsewhere. Avad finds himself hopeless that he will never learn to love nor will it be given in return. Thus, he buries himself in his duties as a distraction.

Emily Darav comes from a big Carja family who wish to see her wed and settled rather than running off to battle machines. Never in her life did she imagine herself worthy of royalty or finding true love until her family moves to Meridian and she meets Avad. However, other women, are vying for his attention... and affection, and she will have to decide if this is a future worth fighting for.

The Darkling just sits there and stares at me, observing me the way he always does. Moments pass, I become frustrated and snap at him. "Well? Are you going to yell at me? Hurt me? Tell me how you are the only one that I am equivalent to in my eternal life, so I should rely solely on you? He raises an eyebrow. "All of those would be sufficient options, but no." I scoff in response before asking, "then... what are you going to do with me?" He reaches out and traces the features of my jaw and face. He replies, "well that will depend on you." "Me?" I ask warily. He moves a strand of hair out of my face and continues to caress my cheek. "Yes," he exhales. "I don't want you to hate me, Alina. It is up to you to decide whether you want me to be your villain or your husband." #1 darklina 10/24 #1 shadowandbone 12/22 #1 fantasy-romance 2/24 #1 darkling 8/24

Touch: Awakening

22 parts Complete Mature

The first touch burns. The second will change her life. In the future, humans will never see each other face to face. Technology will facilitate all interactions, from emails to spoken conversations to a hike up a tree-lined mountain. They'll rely on machines to provide them with their basic needs and favorite indulgences, and they'll never know another person's touch. This is the world Alexis is born into. A grad student slated to become impregnated in a few months' time, Lexi's been struggling with her wild and reckless thoughts. Why aren't they allowed to question the Government's decisions? What if her friend, Parker, is right, and the pill regimen they're on deadens their sense of touch? And why does her heart stop and her chest squeeze whenever she's around Drew? Drew's a dangerous man. He asks the questions she's afraid to voice and makes her think. Makes her wonder. Makes her yearn. He promises to help her find the answers, the two of them fumbling toward something they don't understand. The first touch is painful, the second one less so. Each one awakens feelings Lexi has no words for, until she craves Drew like an addict needing a fix. As they discover what the Government has kept from them all their lives, they fight to find a way to have it all - even as it threatens to destroy them forever. **** Later chapters contain situations intended for a mature audience.
