Alyssa stood over the highest bridge on her darkest night, waiting for a miracle to take away all the pain in her heart.
Her miracle came about in form of a kind stranger who cared about nothing other than helping her. But he was just as bogged down as her, for he had already marked his last day on the calendar.

She couldn't just let him be. If it meant making him happy every now and then just to change his mind, she could live a few months longer.

Call it a hero complex, but maybe she was his miracle in actuality.

An entry for the Indian ONC 2023 woven from prompt #9: There's an urban legend that's been circulating for years about a taxi cab that doesn't take you where you want to go, but where you need to go. One night, you stepped into this cab.

His sister Kelis finds someone in need of a roommate so he moves in with the girl and gives her his middle name, Lucas. He quickly becomes addicted to the girl and once he gets one taste he's done for. He warns her about his past, about his name, but she ignores all the red flags, not realizing exactly how intertwined she is with the people from his past. He makes a heartbreaking decision, thinking it's what's best for both of them and everything changes.
