Alyssa stood over the highest bridge on her darkest night, waiting for a miracle to take away all the pain in her heart.
Her miracle came about in form of a kind stranger who cared about nothing other than helping her. But he was just as bogged down as her, for he had already marked his last day on the calendar.
She couldn't just let him be. If it meant making him happy every now and then just to change his mind, she could live a few months longer.
Call it a hero complex, but maybe she was his miracle in actuality.
