Being a werewolf was one part of it, but people thought it intrusive since Harry couldn't help but know everybody's scent and what they did. He never let them know what he knew though, because it was irrelevant and sometimes embarrassing as well.
Almost as embarrassing as knowing that Draco Malfoy, who had just arrived this year, smelled like wood, apple and sex.
