Due to an explorer illegally visiting  Karachay without any protection from the vast amounts of radiation, he becomes terminally ill when he returns home.  Doctors come to find out that he was exposed to so much radiation that his entire DNA composition was completely rebuilt without him even knowing. Hours after being in the ICU he was pronounced dead....or so they thought. ...
It just so happens to be that his new DNA composition has an ability to reanimate a portion of a deceased brain,
and it's contagious.
Within a span of 24 hours the virus takes its start and begins sticking to anything it can; air born.
