"I didn't realise until I was sure that it was you..." he paused, aware of how she refused to look at him, refused to hear the truth, "But it's because you were deliberately holding yourself back until you could feel my presence again. Because through all we have had to go through together, you still want to protect me. Just like how I always want to protect you. So even if I didn't intend to tell you today, even if you refuse to understand right now, I want you to know who you are."

The cold night air made Marinette shiver and cuddle into the red scarf that wrapped around her neck. She looked at the bright lights of Paris, of her city. A city of love.
