A strong, but one sided love from Dream is unmet by George. If the person who remembers the other after the string is detached dies, the other person remembers everything. Dream should keep this in mind. Once the string is cut, one person's memory of the person their attached too is erased. George's decision was the hardest for Dream to bear with, eventually leading Dream into a deep depression and heartbreak. Together they stay but only one would remember. Dream tries his best to seduce and force George to fall back in love with him, even though he never was.
