A remarkable trans man from Liyue is the unfortunate test subject of his God-crazed scientist and alchemist parents who work for the Fatui. Growing up in Inazuma after the experiments were put to a halt, Rei becomes an independent, young man with a rough past of being a mischievous member of the Arataki Gang. He has the powers of a fox and adeptus, being able to absorb powers, and was granted the power of anemo after being struck down by the Raiden Shogun while trying to escape the oppressed island. Rei is stranded in Mondstat to heal from the battle, befriending beloved faces of this freedom-enriched region. But Rei's destiny cuts deeper into his wounds than he realizes when he discovers that his ancestor was an Adeptus. Rei sets out to find answers, learning along the way that he must stop the infamous Scaramouche from becoming a God. Will Rei succeed or fall?
