{GOOD SOLDIERS FOLLOW ORDERS; GREAT WARRIORS FOLLOW THEIR HEART}

Left for dead in the desert with a headshot, Nathan, a courier with a shattered past, finds himself at a crossroads. His colleagues from Penguin Logistics are relieved he is okay, but he can't remember them. Only fleeting glimpses of their blurry faces rests in the back of his head.

Doubts arise about his ability to continue working for the company after a fight with Luke left it in shambles. The loss of his blood brother devastated him more than the wounds he inflicted on him.

When faced with the dreadful implications that the result of their fight has rendered Penguin Logistics inoperable, and close to bankruptcy, determined to make amends, Nathan sets out on a mission to salvage his reputation and save his company. With loyal friends by his side, he returns to the political battleground of New Vegas, where Mr. House has promised them a hefty sum to repair the damages.

As Nathan navigates the treacherous world of Vegas politics, he must confront his own forgotten past and the consequences of his actions. The stakes are high as he races against time to uncover the truth, restore his memory, and make things right. Will Nathan succeed in rebuilding his life from the ruins, or will his past mistakes catch up with him, jeopardizing everything he holds dear?

And as he trudges through the land of the old world, tainted by the flames of war and conflict of interests, the last words he heard from his brother echo throughout his damaged mind. "A Man Chooses, a slave obeys." He has gone through so much trials and tribulations in the past which he has forgotten at last, suffered through many conflicts and faced incomprehensible horrors, and yet... Perhaps this would be his most complex adventure yet.

What faction shall they fight for when they stand before an old world relic? Which symbol deserves to rule over Eden? Or will he choose his own company, and work only for the benefit of those he hold dear?

I am going to be making an entirely new book based on this same plot and similar characters... But I will not be a literal child when writing it. Hopefully it's much better lol. _________________________________ Book 1 of the Marks series! _________________________________ What if you fainted, and the place you left, the place you remember, is long gone? Instead you're stuck fighting for your life with the help of your classmates, who all remember everything. But you don't. Ava's twin is hiding something from her, and her best friend isn't the same person she remembers. Her school has been turned into some sort of military base and everyone is in uniform. She hasn't seen any adults, and half of her friends aren't around. What's going on? _____________________________ "I just want to know why. That's it. Why did all these people have to die? Why is it that people had to lose almost everyone they loved in one day? Why? It just doesn't- It isn't-" Dawson sank to his knees and put his head in his hands, his shoulders shaking violently. A sob left his lips, the agonizing sound pulling at my heartstrings. "Why is it that people change? That I'll never get to see..." His voice dragged away into the silent air. Everyone was long gone, having left after the ceremony. Dawson stayed where he was, silent tears running over his fingers and to the ground as his body shook with the force of his cries. ________ This book is based off of my friend Ava's dream.

Strands of your mind cling together like web to a slippery leaf bathed in the morning dew. You have seen both heaven and hell, witnessed the atrocities of war firsthand, and imagined a better life in the deepest, most intimate corners of your dreaming spirit. The wishes for peace and certainty you have once so desperately longed for, now lay trampled underneath the might of your mind's vivid horrors. What was once so bright and lively, now cowers in fear, clinging to gone memories like a shipwreck survivor to some lowly piece of driftwood. From the depths of hell, you arrived victorious, grasping the laurel wreath high above your head. Unrecognizable, with your empty eyes telling a story of innocence brutally taken away from the child curling in shame in the depths of your empty soul. Almost green you are, curly head, having grown up with a rifle by your bedside table, never knowing peace and quiet. Out of the pan that was the Kazdel Civil War and into the scorching flames of Lungmen, where life flows by on its own accord, here, you must learn to live once more. So put on your best facade, Let the reuniting trumpets ring a wild, And allow the city to swallow you whole. Here we are, a continuation of my previous work "Goodbye Curly Head", which sprawled into quite the epistle (but it wasn't really a letter, it's just long :P). Summarized in the most basic way possible, it's a story about a twenty-year-old Kazdel Civil War veteran who goes to Lungmen and has some troubles acclimating to the steady life presented before him. Sprinkle in a too-good-to-be-true offer and a freshly established logistics company, and you get Andy trying to make it big for as long as his deteriorating mental state lets him. I'd say it works as a standalone story for anyone who doesn't want to bother reading the first part. For now, at least. As always, please, pwwease leave a comment, positive, negative, I LOOOVE reading and replying to comments!!

War. War never changes. When atomic fire consumed the earth, those who survived did so in great, underground vaults. When they opened, their inhabitants set out across ruins of the old world to build new societies, establish new villages, form new tribes. As decades passed, what had been the American southwest united beneath the flag of the New California Republic, or NCR, dedicated to old-world values of democracy and the rule of law. As the NCR grew, so did its needs. Scouts spread east, seeking territory and wealth, in the dry and merciless expanse of the Mojave desert. They returned with tales of a city untouched by the warheads that had scorched the rest of the world, and a great wall spanning the Colorado River. The NCR mobilized its army and set it east to occupy the Hoover Dam, and restore it to working condition. But across the Colorado, another society had arisen under a different flag. A vast army of slaves, forged in the conquest of 86 tribes: Caesar's Legion. Four years have passed since the NCR held the dam - just barely - against the Legion's onslaught. The Legion did not retreat. Across the river, they gathered strength. Campfires burned, training drums beat. Through it all, the New Vegas Strip has stayed open for business under the control of its mysterious overseer, Mr. House, and his army of rehabilitated tribals and police robots. Dallas is a courier, hired by the Mojave Express, to deliver a package to the New Vegas Strip. What seemed like a simple delivery job has taken a turn... for the worse

"And if I fail?" I asked my handler. "We'll find someone else to replace you. But I don't think you'll fail. I've got several bets that are placed on you winning." I gulped. "Why?" "Everyone loves an underdog. Just don't blow my money. Kill that crew." I swallowed and forced my words out. "Yessir." Without a doubt, 3718's life was miserable. From birth, their entire life was geared towards becoming something to be used for another purpose. They were a part of a game in where they and another Impostor competed to kill off a crew for entertainment. Whoever killed the least amount of crewmates by the end was flatlined. Along with that, there was also the fact that 3718 had to worry about getting ejected and dying that way as well. Try and resist and you got shot. Get caught and you were ejected. Survive and you live with the knowledge that you ruined uncountable lives. In a race against time, against your own, what'll happen when 3718 gets a chance to escape it all? Good day, researcher. We're giving you an important task today. We've retrieved the body of the man known as "Hosea Altrovich". Our top scientists already fixed him up for you as best they could, but there may be some discrepancies that need your attention to fix it. Your mission for today is to head to Lab 13, and begin your work putting together pieces of memory neurons, that will be placed in his Limbic system, so that he will become a killing machine, and a great leader for us. It is for the greater good, researcher. If we see any of the automated memory processing computer working against us, or leaning his opinions against us, then you are held responsible for what kind of monster you made this benevolent old man into. Remember to be as accurate as you are in picking his memory, don't be afraid to choose the automated artificial memories given to you by the CPU. Yes, I know what I said before is contradictory, but you will be held responsible if Hosea turned out to be a failed test subject. Don't fail us, researcher. There's a description of him left by the folks who made this possible, go read it before you do something drastic.
