A girl moves to Australia and recruits some friends to help build and staff her beach bar, Rudy's. Kik is a funny, lazy childish guy. Moose is fairly reserved, but enjoys a good laugh- he helps to keep Kik in check. (Ben)Ji is a golden retriever beach bum, up for anything and very excited when recruited as the first helper for Rudy's. Tif is a Sarah Cameron type, decked out in both expensive and home-made jewellery, and drawn to the bar by her crush on Ji.
Drawn closer together by Rudy's, Memoirs of a beach bar shows the happiness of the group as the summer progresses, and the bar becomes a friendly hand out spot for locals.

This book is just a feel good summer story filled with sunshine and smiles.
