The Fox and The Hound

"Hey kiddo, come here."

She would turn towards her dad, smiling at him. She'd run over to him to jump into his arms, laughing as he spins her around.

"What is it daddy?" Her dad would set her down as he got on one knee, and she would look at him with curiosity. "You know I love you, right?" "Of course daddy! I love you too!"

He would let out a chuckle, and then he'd smile at her. "And you know nothing would ever change that, right? No matter how far apart we were, I would always continue to love you."

"I know! But why are you saying stuff like that? Are you going somewhere?" He would smile at her as he stands up, picking her up.

"Daddy's going on a trip to visit family for a while, and he wants you to do him a favor." "Okay daddy! What is it?" She would stare curiously at her dad.

"I want you to promise me that you'll take care of your mommy and brother, okay? No matter what happens, that you'll be there?"

She would smile widely, nodding her head quickly. "I can do that!" Her dad would let out a breath she didn't know he was holding. "Good."

He puts her down, and then he hugs her. She would squeeze back, smiling into his shoulder. "Be safe daddy! I love you!"

"I love you too, Akira."
