No this has nothing to do with Death Note. It was based on a Tumblr post that asked people to write a story in a world where people could see each others' death days but not their own. Meaning that everyone can see how much time other people have till their death. But unfortunatelly no one can see their own dying day.

A man surrounded by darkness gives him pity and another chance at living. . . but it comes with the burden of remembering how his other life ended. After fourteen years, Thomas' mother takes him to New York City after a divorce to let them restart. He immediately finds a few friends, Ryan and Jayden, and they live happily for a few hot seconds. But when Thomas gets caught up in books and myths and crimes, he confesses to Ryan what he's been through. But Ryan doesn't thoroughly understand, and rumors spread around. With only the help of one other friend, who seems to him to be more than a friend, Thomas finds himself in a twist of anguish and sadness--he feels there's only one thing he can do. And that decision, to be made or to not be made, will make a huge impact on him. Not only himself, but his dearest friend. Daz is loosing hope and one night the finally gives into his thoughts leaving his best friends confused and hurt they didn't realise sooner. after Daz passed away his friends start feeling the same way now the life of the party is missing, some quit their jobs, stop doing the things they love and some start new jobs to be better people.
