Mientras el futuro rey león aprende siguiendo las huellas del abuelo, a las Tierras del Reino llegan animales de otro reino vecino, cuyo soberano está en problemas pues ha sido capturado y su pueblo está en peligro de ser derribado. En una misión (en principio, diplomática), Simba y Nala llevan a los recién llegados devuelta, sin saber que unos cuantos cachorros también irán a visitar ese reino.
