Kyle moved to california for three years because his dad had gotten a well paying job there, he was pretty bummed. Unfortunately for them; or at least kyles parents... Gerald got fired. They had no other choice than to move back to south park. Kyle was very excited to see his friends again, he kept in touch with kenny and bebe. Though for stan, they didn't talk much. it's because stan end up drinking since he missed kyle so much, he just couldn't bare to see nor talk to him. Once kyle came back, Stan knew that he couldn't keep his feelings bottled up forever.
