Cat loves a challenge; she also has a horrible habit of being unable to say, “No.” So when her dorky cousin Adam calls with a special request, it’s no surprise she is on a plane the very next day.
Adam wants his band to win the nationally broadcasted battle of the bands taking place in the distant New York City. To do that, he needs Cat to turn his band into rock stars with some sort of an audience. What he doesn't tell her is that his band mates are a bunch of socially awkward junior year nerds who are known to be a bit on the strange side.
But there’s more to it. Cat needs Adam’s band, 'The Punching Wall Flowers' to succeed. If they do, Cat gets a cut of the prize money for college, and the change to write perfect article that just might land her an internship at the biggest newspaper in Atlanta, GA.
Throw in a few live performances, scheming reporters, a biased judge, and a sexy sinister singer—then Cat’s in a run for her money and a race against the clock. There’s only one month until the battle of the bands, and she’s already lost a few days to a grasshopper infestation. Now Cat only has twenty eight days – just 22,600 short minutes – to turn these last place losers into champion rock stars.
And maybe find romance along the way.

We've all complained about being poor or broke at least once in our lives. But do you really know what poor is? Have you gone days without food? Is your entire family in debt? Is your mother sick and your father dead? Well this is the story of Liz O'Connor. She knows what poor is. She has to go out in the streets everyday with her siblings begging or performing in order to get some money for that night's meal. Her ten other siblings perform in different parts of the city. The thing she does most to get money? Singing. When a audition for Can You Rock Out? comes around Liz can't believe her luck. Will she be able to actually get on the show and win the record deal and $5,000,000 cash prize that will take her family out of debt? The only problem is: she needs a band in order to enter and the competition is across the country. Will she take the slim chance she has of winning the competition? Or will her dreams catch fire and burn? Amazing cover made by @springgfield Copyright 2014 ©
