I got a wolf on my back, chasing me through the woods. The forested nights held secrets that whispered through the winds, and I had unknowingly become a part of them. With each passing second, I felt a magnetic pull as the knowledge of unseen eyes bore into my very soul. He was watching, sating whatever twisted appetite he had. I wrapped the gajra, the fragrant string of jasmines, around my wrist. Then I placed the rose behind my ear, gritting my teeth when the thorns pierced skin. That's what the bastard wanted from me. A little pain, a little bloody fear. Besides, you couldn't expect decency to clip thorns from a stalker that's probably a psychotic serial killer who got off on the taste of chaos. I sighed as I opened the crumpled note, eyeing his neat yet rough scrawl for the millionth time. 'Sensual silhouettes, painful pleasures. I know you chase after them, Little Gazelle.' The web of mystery that had been woven around me was drawing tighter, a convergence of fates that would soon intertwine in ways I could never have fathomed. The predator-and-prey game had begun, and I was being hunted in the shadows.

He finally found the one. The one that he had given up on finding at such an early age, he finally found the person who could complete him. Now he just had to make sure he could keep her safe. He had found her in the worst possible place: right in the middle of a case. "By the way," his partner pulled him out of his thoughts. He surprised him by giving him a mischievous smirk. "That growl? 10/10 in my book. Very spooky. 9/10 on Rotten Tomatoes for Plot and Suspense. Of course, one point was taken away for doing it near humans, a woman, nonetheless. But, other than that, loved it." He had to take a deep breath for that. He stopped walking and glared at the man. "You know," he started. "One of these days you're going to wind up dead because of that mouth." "From you?" "Possibly." "Good," that smirk never left his face. "You have no idea how annoying it is being immortal." "Can't be worse than being friends with one," he rolled his eyes and continued his walk. As much as he was excited to find his love, he couldn't help but be concerned for the woman. She was a gypsy without a past or a family. And it seemed like there was more than just him looking for her. But who was it? And why? Why was she trapped in that glass? Detective Jim Magnar didn't know the answer to that. But he had a feeling that this was just the start to something much grander than a simple call on the police radio. It was a destiny trapped in glass. And now he had to figure out where it was leading him. * A mystery romance with a supernatural twist! Come and join this detective's ragtag group of friends and coworkers as he deciphers who is after the love of his life! Will he be able to win her over? Completed 07/31/23
