How? How was he still alive? He stabbed himself, this doesn't make sense? What happened to the others? Tommy? Did they manage to escape? Multiple questions were swarming his head, but he was too exhausted to answer them mentally.
His vision was embraced with darkness and his breathing was so faint. His whole body ached. He doesn't want to move an inch of his body. He wanted the darkness to submerge his entire body peacefully. Until he heard a voice. Mutters were coming on the other side of the room. It was a female.
Collecting all the vitality he has, Newt forces his eyes open. The brightness makes him hiss quietly. His eyes catch a short haired ginger leaning forward on a table scribbling in her notepad, her eyebrows furrowing as she rubs her temples. Taking his eyes off her he looked around the room, it was a white room and in the corner of the rooms shelves were displayed and items of medical supplies and syringes.
Instantly he sits up, regretting that seconds later as he winces and clutches his chest. The gingered girl looks up from her notes and rushes to his side, "Hey, careful Issac." She gently grabs his arm, only for him to jerk his arm away. She puts her hand up in surrender backing up from him.
"Don't touch me."

or; newt comes back to life with the help of a girl named Lydia and they both work together to get newt back to his friends and his tommy. But of course, they get into some bumpy situations. Oh, did I mention that newt is a half-crank? crazy, right?

He rubbed the back of his neck, "You keep surprising me, Greenie. It's... just history now." He played absentmindedly with his fingers. "Why do you ask? You uh... have a thing for her?" "Gally would happily filet me if I did." I joked. He laughed but didn't seem fully at ease. "No. I don't have a thing for her, she's a friend." He nodded, with a silent radiant of pleasure. I broke and asked him about her, "Is it really history? I mean... ever since I noticed you two together now I can't stop noticing it. She walks into a room and I feel like I have to remind you to breathe." He pulled a chair over and straddling the back of it. "You know when you're running through the maze and you're almost finished, you can see the glade and you have all this built up adrenaline? You're sore, tired, sweaty but you still feel the last bit of energy to get you home? That's what I feel whenever I'm around her. It's like every nerve in my body wants to wrap around her but I also teetering on the verge danger that would come with that." Second Book to Malevolent Maze "Teresa!" I sat upright after Thomas called out her name. Groggily, I sat up and rubbed my eyes before looking over at the bed opposite mine. She wasn't in her bed but I could see the light on in the bathroom. I could hear them trying to get into the room. I rolled my eyes and opened the door. "What the heck guys?" My arm lowered from my eyes so that my vision could adjust to my surroundings. There were about fifty boys, all boys, looking down at me and Thomas in this room in the ground like we were some new animals at the zoo. There are challenges, people get taken, and with the flare becoming airborne, anything can happen. Will they make it to the Right Arm or will WICKED beat them to it? Or maybe, death will.
