After a night on the town, Sarah wakes up to a miserable hangover. But it's nothing compared to what comes next. After attempting to light a cigarette, she feels that something isn't quite right. Soon she'll discover that everything is very wrong. My entry in the Open Novella Contest III, Feb 2020. April 28. Just got the news that Thirteen Points has made it through the second round. Now I have to finish by May 5th. I'm not as far along as I had hoped at this point, but I'm sure I can make it. May 4th. 12:10 am. Finished. Submitted. Good night. May 20th. Well, 13 Points made the Long List. I have no idea how many original entries there were but about 940 made the first cut. There's 150 on the Long List. Not bad for my first time out. Now we'll wait and see how we fare on the Short List. May 30th. Well, Sarah and company didn't make the Short List. I can't say I'm disappointed though. Now she made new friends and new enemies there will be adventures for her. But there was a problem. That problem was that Mephone4 was hiding a secret from his contestants and Clover a secret that he can't tell everyone about what it is. And someone or something wanted her to be dead while her parents from real life were very worried about her. While she was figuring out about what happened to Mephone's past while Mephone was keeping her safe will she get out of one of her favorite object shows or will she be stuck here forever? The time machine was beyond repair. It was an unfortunate realization on TestTube's end. She could re-build it of course, but she'd need time. Luckily she had it, sort of anyways, this place ran on a "schedule" that consisted of whatever Salt and Pepper felt in the moment. Which resulted in inconsistent spaces between what the girls loosely labeled "contests". For the time being TestTube resigned herself to attempting to blend in, just until her machine was fully rebuilt. She'd gotten better at predicting the condiments habits after being here for a week, and she predicted the next challenge wouldn't be for awhile- Then the challenge bell rang.
