Agate is a translucent variety of microcrystalline quartz. The Agate is a gemstone used in different pieces of decoration and jewelry. The silica crystals form a brightly colored grainy stone known by many names such as "malleable" or "malleable chalcedony". The coloration ranges from light lilac to dark red with white stripes or spots running through the stone.

The fluid that fills this void shows different colors due to pH, iron and other mineral composition."
