Katrina Vaughn is headed home to Ravensport, Rhode Island, for the first time in two years ... and she has bad news.

The daughter of best-selling thriller author C.P. Vaughn and his socialite wife, Kat knows better than to expect warm, fuzzy feelings when she tells her parents that things haven't been going so well for her at school. It's been years since something changed in the Vaughn household, and although Katrina doesn't know what happened between her parents that cleaved her family apart, one thing is perfectly clear: they're never going to be what they used to be, and Kat just wants to be anywhere but here.

What she doesn't anticipate on her first night back in Ravensport is that her wish to escape is about to be granted. While seeking refuge from her father's book release party, Kat slips and hits her head on her neighbor's dock, falling into the frigid waters of the marina before she can save herself.

Minutes or hours later, she's dragged aboard a ship called the Cygnus, where she coughs awake in the harsh sunlight of a world she no longer recognizes. Water logged and achy, Katrina is forced to face a crew of strangely dressed men and women, who whisper about magical artifacts, cities with names she's never heard, and a kingdom called Aniscere, which she's fairly certain she won't find on any map.

As Katrina fights to return to her real life, she's swept up in the quest of the mysterious Captain Laurier, whose stern demeanor and secretive ways certainly aren't helping her get home any faster. Yet as the days start to bleed into one another, and Kat starts to make friends aboard the Cygnus, she's faced with the realization that her life back home can't possibly compare to her adventures in Aniscere. Still, she's unwilling to give in to what she's beginning to feel.

After all ... there's more to life than being loved. Isn't there?

"You said your name was Seth, right?" Brynner asked. "Tell me Seth- what happened between you and this girl?" Seth had begun to step forward. He froze. "What do you want to know?" Brynner adjusted his weight on the sand. "She said one thing when I pulled her out of the sea--" His voice dropped. "Your name." The ship had become Seth's prison. As Captain's heir, he finds himself crushed under the weight of his father's expectations. He isn't the son his father wanted, and his betrothal to Tamar, the girl he knew since childhood, doesn't feel right. Their union only proves to Seth their stark difference. She was unflinching beneath her steel blade; He was detached, too caught up in pondering the creatures lurking in the depths to become the heir the Temptation's Wake needs. Seth longs for a breath of fresh air. A chance encounter with a Nepti--one of the humanoid scaled beings beneath--gives him exactly that. Only now he's thrown into a war between conflicting ideals and cutthroat organizations. As Seth becomes tangled in this net of conspiracy, he finds his fate interwoven with those of spies, royalty, and murderers. No one is how they seem, and Tamar only reaches after her own ambition. Seth wants to believe in something, but nothing is solid. He finds solace in remembering that Tamar hadn't always been this way. Forced to uncover the terrifying secrets kept hidden from him aboard the Temptation's Wake, and as he finds family where he least expects, he is pressed into answering the one question he dreads: Did he ever really love Tamar? What to expect: fantasy with heavy themes such as loss, overcoming trauma, manipulation, and learning your own identity Tight action, complex characters, slow burn romance

Captain Kieran Crowe fears nothing-not the gallows, not the navy, not the sea itself. But when his hunt for treasure drives The Iron Serpent into siren waters, he meets a fate no blade can fight. He encounters the daughter of the siren queen, her voice a lullaby that lures men to their doom. Yet when her coven drags Crowe's crew beneath the waves, she spares him. Predator and prey clash on a forsaken shore-his defiance against her hunger, her song against his will-until something deeper binds them. Their love is violent, impossible, undeniable. Together they defy sea and shore, fighting witches, mutiny, and curses that would tear them apart. But the sea does not forgive, and every joy comes shadowed by loss. From black-sailed raids to London's gray streets, theirs is a bond that scars, burns, and endures. And when death finally claims them, pirate and siren are reunited on a silver shore, the Iron Serpent reborn beneath eternal skies. A tale of ruin and salvation, of storm and tide. A mysterious castaway. A Scottish hero determined to protect her. Can they survive the storm? Cast adrift on the Indian Ocean, Maria carries a terrible secret. Wherever she goes, death soon follows, and she's powerless to prevent it. William McGregor boarded the SS Trevessa in search of adventure, but he gets more than he bargained for when he saves the mysterious Maria from the sea. She can't tell them her tragic tale, so the superstitious sailors make up their own stories - and some would sacrifice her to the waves to save themselves from the coming storm. When the sharks start circling and the storm closes in, are sirens more than just a myth? A tiny taste of what's in store: My defiance was futile. What did it get me? A small raft drifting across the Indian Ocean, with nothing but the sound of waves and the smell of salt and coal-smoke. Smoke meant a ship. I was saved. I squinted into the sunlight, but the waves hid the vessel from me. Maybe I was looking the wrong way. I didn't have the strength to sit up and see. Rough hands seized me. I struggled, but my weakness won. Blue eyes drifted above, the same colour as the ocean below. A tangle of wiry seaweed obscured the rest of the man's face. "It's all right, lass. I'll take care of you." Darkness took me first. This book has been published and is available wherever you buy good ebooks.
