Tanjiro Kamado is Giyuu Tomioka's Tsuguko(his Successer. Tanjiro is sent on a mission while training with the Water Hashira, on his mission he saves an injured slayer from a lower moon, but at the time he was tracing the demon, another was searching for the lower moon as well. But this "other" was not at all human.
