Oscar, a modest and kind man, finds his world turned upside down when the tyrant king stays at his estate for a few days. This tyrannical king is cursed with yellow and red eyes that have the citizens frightened of his demonic appearance. However, as the days unfold, Oscar discovers a different side to the king - one that is thoughtful, introspective, and burdened by his isolation from others.

Just as their connection deepens, a crisis emerges: Oscar's father faces a life-threatening predicament, and the only way to save him is through a drastic sacrifice. Faced with an impossible decision, Oscar chooses to sell himself to the king, trading his freedom for his father's life. This selfless act marks a turning point, as Oscar is now forced to live at the King's palace.

"Look at me properly and try to remember." He implored her, his silvery eyes boring into hers. Maya raised her nervous eyes to meet his. Searching her head, she tried to remember where she may have met this man before. As she stared at him, a sense of familiarity began to settle. Those eyes... she'd seen them before. Where has she seen them? One by one, the images came. The pictures from a time she had forgotten. She had helped someone with eyes just like this. Still in his embrace, a daunting realisation began to set in. She'd met this man before. Long before he even dreamed of being a king... **************** A tyrant king conquers a kingdom so he can get married to her forgotten princess. People expect a marriage filled with strife and everything but none of that happens. Instead he treats her right, worships her and kisses the very ground she walks on. Why is that? People wonder. The reason is quite simple. Years ago, the same princess had saved his life from the bitter hands of death when he was betrayed by his half brother, the crown prince of Madonia. An emperor who refused to rule with blood. A prince who refused to love with restraint. Elliott Lancaster, descendant of the sun and the gentle Emperor of the Vellurian empire, has spent his life avoiding war- and his father's attempts to force him into a political marriage. After his succession, instead, he adopted an orphaned noble boy, Aiden, raising him as both heir and an unlikely companion. But their bond was never that of father and son. How could it be, when they had less than a decade between them? Aiden Lancaster, the perfect prince in court and a storm of violence on the battlefield, has waited years to prove himself. He is devoted to his adopted father- some might even say, too devoted. Still, up till now, he was restrained by Elliott's desire for peace, despite their enemies poking them again and again. But Aiden's patience had its limits- but them touching Elliott was the straw which broke the camel's back. Now unrestrained, he wages a war so brutal it shocks the empire. When Elliott awakens to find borders redrawn in blood, he must confront the terrifying truth: the boy he raised has become a conqueror, and his devotion has twisted into something far more dangerous. As rival empire schemes and the nobility whispers about their unnatural bond, Elliott faces an impossible choice: maintain his morals and risk losing Aiden or embrace the ruthless love of the man who would burn the world to protect him.

More. As a reclusive author who dedicates all her time to the books she publishes, Detta feels something is missing. Writing was supposed to be an escape. A way for her to leave the bland life she was living. Detta never meant to be a part of it. After falling asleep on an open document, Detta finds herself in a world so foreign, yet so familiar. It's the very same world that she created. Though, unfortunately for Detta, the novel is no breezy summer romance. There, a ruthless tyrant is raiding the lands in search of his fated bond. With the author's unexpected appearance, he believes that it is her. His revelation derails the novel's plot, and it's up to Detta to make sure that it gets back on the right track. This tyrant has no idea that he is meant to die.
