*Updates weekly* "I suddenly wish that I'd been the one hired to kill you instead of protect you." I threw across the expansive table unapologetically, still holding his cold gaze. "Unfortunately, I'm confident you'd have ended up like the first-" Before he could finish his sentence I had thrown my steak knife across the room with remarkable speed and precision, even in my tipsy state, effectively silencing him. It had flown just past his head, nicking his ear, as I'd intended, before lodging itself into the frame of the very large painting hanging behind him. It'd happened so fast he hadn't even had a chance to flinch. "What were you saying?" I posed rhetorically with a smug grin, very pleased with myself. Eliza is a professional spy and contract killer who, much to her dismay, is assigned to protect Marcel Solano and find a mole within his organization while she poses as his new personal assistant. Marcel Solano is the head of an illegal organization who fronts as a business man by day. Although he's more than nice to look at, he is abrasive, condescending, and domineering. Add to the fact that Eliza feels the job is below her expert skill set, and she could be doing better things. Marcel, on the other hand, isn't at all convinced that Eliza is worth the money he's shelling out for her services. To him she comes off unprofessional, obstinate, and altogether lacking. As the two begrudgingly settle into their new roles of employer and employee, things begin to heat up between them against their better judgement. Turns out her new Boss might just require a different set of skills from her than what she was hired for. Can Eliza pull marcel from the lion's den before he's eaten alive, or will she go down with him?

**ONGOING-RANDOM UPDATES** Rebecca Caruso wasn't supposed to meet Marco Montanari. She wasn't supposed to spend the night drinking with him. And she sure as hell wasn't supposed to get tangled in a crime scene before dawn. He told her to forget what they saw. Forget the blood. But some nights refuse to be forgotten. And some acquaintances are impossible to walk away from. Rebecca is forced to choose between the life she's been handed-and the one she's willing to risk everything for. Because in this city, love is a liability. And choice? That's the most dangerous part of it all. ~~~ πŸ’” Equal parts psychological drama, mafia/crime suspense, and romance.
