When Raymond Grant reads Nico Irevan's mind, he suddenly has an insufferable attraction. He's not gay, he's just lack a morning cup of coffee. For months on end at least. He's lacked coffee to the point of making out with Nico at parties, leaving marks on his skin, becoming jealous at the small things.
He can't explain why he doesn't appreciate one of his teammates being interested in Nico, and Nico losing hope in Raymond to the point of paying attention to the teammate. Maybe it's the secret he's hid from the world all his life? Maybe it's not wanting to accept he finally wants someone enough he would do for them anything, even tell his mentioned secret.
Will Raymond quit dragging his feet and do things in the right order when he realizes his true feelings, or will he be too late? If he's not too late, will it last?
