Everything is made of elements, regardless if humans can see it or not, and almost every element was formed at the heart of a star. During a supernova, when a massive star is at the very end of its life, the explosion sparks the creation of elements and spreads them all throughout the universe scattering its stardust which now makes up the planet Earth.
