This thing was originally a science project that was supposed to be a short one-page story about elements of the periodic table... but now it's spiraled off and I am emotionally attached to five metals who are also knights please help me-
This is the first story, plus the epilogue which was for a different assignment
Essentially, it's about these five swordsmen who are part of a guild and have been sent off on a quest to retrieve a certain magical artifact from one of the Elder Guardians who have protected these lands since ancient times. If they succeed in retrieving the artifact, they will officially become knights of the Blacksword Guild. They're not exactly the friendliest towards each other, but grow to care for their companions as their adventure goes on. They run into troubles along the way, miraculously survive thanks to the ✨power of friendship✨, but perhaps the biggest surprise comes at the very end of their quest
I finished this thing within a week, so the writing's probably not great, sorry about that

"Do you remember calling me 'mate?'" he asked softly, pushing her wild curls away from her face. She blushed deeply, but he wouldn't let her look away. "You heard that?" He nodded with a smile. "It was the first thought she ever shared with me." Skylar pursed her lips. "She likes you very much." "What about you?" he teased gently. "How do you feel about me?" She set her jaw and once again managed to look down her nose at him while staring up at him. "Well... well, I'm rather fond of you, Orion." He let out a relieved laugh and pulled her into his chest again. "What a relief. I was worried it was just me." He nuzzled her temple, inhaling deeply, his dragon fully at peace. The words "I love you" were right on the tip of his tongue, but he knew it was too soon for that. He would have to hold them in just a little while longer. "I'm fond of you, too," he whispered in her ear. <><><><><><><><> Skylar lived her life in fear. Fear of exposure, fear of herself, and fear of her future. As a princess and heir to the kingdom, her future was daunting enough. The fact that she turned into dragon and would be killed if anyone found out made it all the worse. So, Skylar lived in constant conflict with the beast within her, all while training to be queen one day. When a fellow king discovers her secret, she is forced to flee or put her entire family in danger. When she meets Orion, the Alpha of a dragon clan, he helps open up a whole new world to her. In this new world, Skylar discovers who she is supposed to be and what she's been hiding from. She finds the beauty of her beast and a love she only ever dreamed of. But then her new world is threatened. It becomes a matter of kill or be killed, so Skylar's new family, with the help of her old, must rise to the challenge to defeat this threat. Okay, so here's how it all began. Basically, teenagers have been vanishing across the country and no one has the foggiest idea what's going on (myself included). But at the end of the day I've got bigger things to worry about, such as the eternal hell that is the last day of high school and my psychopathic chemistry teacher. I've got enough going on in my life to be worrying about something I can't do anything about. Famous last words Nick. Suddenly I find myself being dragged into a world I apparently belong to and there's a war going on. The light and the dark are scrabbling for control and everything is hanging by a thread. (Btw, I am really bad at summary's but here goes nothing!) In a separate dimension, much different then ours, lives a land called Elementia. Elementia is a place where every element of different kinds, live in pure harmony. Each element live in different towns, controlling their majors and helping other dimensions, such as ours, live. They control our winds and our seas. They deliver newborn trees and creatures of the wilderness. And they bring the least bits of purity to all lands in each Dimension and Galaxy. Everything was bliss, cheerful, and active, until Queen Europhia, Queen of all elements combined, announced a strange and dark presence approaching their land. She called the most powerful elementals of Elementia to fight off the darkness that approach their land. Five brave souls will come front and figure out the troubles of what their land might fight. Will they win or will they lose? (How was that? Anyway, in some parts of the story, I will add your own characters if you want.
