Knights, above all else, are loyal to the royal court and their kingdom: not to cute boys they see in passing.
However, Nico di Angelo isn't a knight-not yet, anyway. He's been a squire since he was 14, attending to every need of the drunken, arrogant knight, Hades. Now after years of being on the bottom ranks of the palace, he's got only one year left of being the perfect apprentice until he can finally become a knight.
That was before the King of Apolla and an array of knights went missing.
With no one to protect the royal family, Hades rises up the ranks, and unfortunately, so does Nico. This should be a blessing, and it would be to any squire, if it weren't for the impossible Crown Prince William: a spoiled, irritatingly handsome, immature age one rule is to keep Will safe as the scion. However, the rule didn't account for his unpredictability and visions of heroic grandeur-Will's determined to find his dad, even if it kills him, and has a sparkling preposition to offer Nico for his assistance. Nico's willing to do whatever it takes to squash the boy's dreams and send him crying back home to his momma.
The two find themselves on a riveting adventure across the land of Olympia-running into unlikely characters, getting into endless trouble, and finding passions outside of a future thought to be set in stone. And of course, figuring out love could be right under your nose the entire time.
-Tangled inspired-
Nico di Angelo had been shunned by his father, King Hades, for two years after he came out and told him he's gay. Since then, the young boy lived two years as a normal commoner, lying to others about others about whom he really is and where's he's been.
Will Solace, son of King Apollo, has live a normal life in the Sun Palace with loving and supporting family. He's never had to worry too much about what his parents thought of him.
Two years after Nico was rejected by his father, his older sister, Bianca, comes to him with news. She is getting married to Prince Will Solace and he's been invited back to his home palace to meet his soon to be brother in law. Nico agrees, for the sake of his sisters, to come home.
What could go wrong if he were to go home? The answer: Everything.
