If you don't like it, you are welcome to move onto the next book. Also, I made Venti a woman in this AU, I don't have a particular reason for it, I just thought it would be fun to do so. The characters will be out of character in the beginning, but as the story progresses, you should be able to see them have the same personality as they do in the game.
