Only I'm not always asleep...

Ranboo, a 19 year old Twitch streamer who goes by he/they pronouns, often experiences night terrors while asleep, and vivid hallucinations while awake. Ranboo's family does not know why they are experiencing these things, but it's been going on for about four months.
Ranboo, while asleep, sometimes has very restless dreams about many different things. The most common dreams though, consists of Ranboo being stuck in strange places like; dimly lit yellow halls where all you hear is the hum of the lights, rooms that are large open pools, and even places like plain yet colorful empty neighborhoods. One thing all of these places have in common though, are monsters that are weirdly shaped that chase Ranboo around in their dreams.
Aside from being asleep, while Ranboo is awake, he has hallucinations very frequently. Ranboo will see black shadow figures peaking at him from behind walls, to the walls and ceiling of rooms getting increasingly smaller until he feels as if the room is squeezing him, to sometimes even things or people's faces melting, and occasionally, the food on Ranboo's plate appears to rot and/or have bugs on it, making him sick, and not want to eat.
What could be causing all of this though?
When Ranboo's friends invite him to a meetup in Florida, he has to try to keep these hallucinations to himself, because he is afraid of what his friends will think of him.
Will they call Ranboo crazy, or help him find therapy to stop these dreams and hallucinations?
