Kevin is an unpleasant man who loses his job and finds it difficult to deal with other people. 

He has those he considers friends, but he mostly prefers to focus on code, alcohol, and cynicism. Then, Kevin begins to experience odd hallucinations. In one moment, he finds comfort with a complete stranger, and in the next, he finds himself in a darkened, pixelated wood. A crowd of creatures are gathering, but Kevin doesn't sense danger; rather, he feels anticipation. Something is about to happen.

When Kevin is thrust back into reality, the visions do not stop. Soon, dream figures start to follow him into his normal life, and life conspires to keep him in the small town of Deptford, longing for his first love and feeling numb inside. He isn't exactly happy with his existence, but he doesn't have the motivation to change anything.

Things do begin to change, however, in strange and horrifying ways. CODE JUNKIE is a story of cynicism, introspection, and addiction. As Kevin must overcome the trials and tribulations of everyday life, he becomes more and more entranced by his hallucinations. Is he crazy? Prophetic? Or something else entirely?

CODE JUNKIE is a tale about an unpleasant man who loses his job.

Conceptualized and written originally as an ARG between 2010-2013, CODE JUNKIE was my first long-from written work. Here it is, a decade later. There are flaws inherent in all first novels, and a few things that now make me shake my head, but the story within will always hold a special place in my heart. 

In the spirit of this re-release, I will be making minor revisions and edits for flow as I release two chapters a week. But the original story will be there in its entirety. I hope you enjoy it.All Rights Reserved

After an attempt to make you happy, your parents take you to a soccer game. Then you find a soccer player that caught your eye, and his eye as well. Slowly and slowly you guys seem to find each other wherever you go. 2|| Being on and off with the famous soccer player, it's causing a ton of stress for the both of you. Not to mention, your old possessive boyfriend moved near you. This causes you to have to pick between him, or Kevin. Both of the men want you back, but the fighting is to hard. 3|| chaos, destruction, desire and depression lingering in the air. It all seems to cool down when you made your final choice on who you wanted, the love triangle ended, and you and Kevin were happy. No more drama, right? Well, you were far off from right. The story hasn't even begun. And not a happy ending. - Kevin let you push him down. He actually felt relief. The feeling of you touch on him again felt good. He didn't care if it was only just a touch. He missed you, but he still hated you. He still hated how you made him cry, how be you played him. He still hated you because he still loved you. Dream always felt the weight of expectations on his shoulders and they've only grown worse now that he's a Star Sans. Save this AU, rescue that person, stop Nightmare over there, and make X person smile! It's a never-ending cycle of tasks and he gets asked more about why he hasn't done it sooner or defeated his brother yet than thanked for what he accomplished. He feels trapped in this position and doubts if he didn't have his positive aura that anyone would care for him. Most like him for the joy he brings or what he can give them. Nobody around him ever feels genuine without a doubt in his head. Add in the stress of protecting one Star Sans(Swap) and keeping the other(Ink) from starting trouble and you have a positive guardian ready to break under expectations. Then you have Error, the destroyer of AUs. His reputation speaks for himself and builds all the expectations he needs whenever he steps foot into another AU. He's as bad an omen as a black cat crossing your path. Others assume he is bad because of his "freakish" or glitching appearance. He has accepted these but it gets tiring when he already has the voices bossing him around or Fate reminding him that he should do more destruction. But he doesn't limit himself to destruction. He watches UnderNovela, admires the stars, and appreciates what he can. He pushes the limits of what is expected of him or disregards them completely. A trait that Dream eventually finds himself admiring in him, the known enemy of his friend. He knows that Error's feelings are genuine since he doesn't change in his presence(still an angry manchild). So when Dream gets wounded and stuck with Error on a whim, where will it take them? Will it be a mistake remaining in a hatred of enemies or will it change them both for the better? Could this admiration open Error up to corrupting Dream or will he be the influence Dream needs to against expectations and live for himself?

The characters and situations in this book are very real, if gore or horrific mental images scare you, then I wouldn't recommend reading far. The problem didn't arise when those people got up and started walking again, or even when they started eating and infecting others, it began when people got desperate. And sure, his family still think being gay is a phase he'll grow out of. And he has to listen to debates about how queer marriage will irrevocably destroy British society every time he tries to watch the news. And panic attacks start pouncing on him without warning when he's supposed to be the normal one. But otherwise, his life is perfect. Miles has compartmentalised his mind with an efficiency his recovering-hoarder-become-neat-freak mother would be proud of. If somebody were to walk into his mind, they would find a clean house full of natural sunlight and not much else. His grandparents are in one room, his dad's coffin in another, his mother asleep in the third. Even Ziri - especially Ziri - is quarantined from the rest because sometimes there are roars in the basement no amount of music can cover up and Miles has no plan of inviting anyone down those stairs. This was the first time I got sent to rehab, it didn't work and I came out worse. I was 16 when I tried to commit three times in the same year, the last time I got my heart to stop for 30 seconds. That year was also the first time I snorted Hydrocodone, getting me started in opiates, I experimented with Xanax and liked it. And I was a month from 17 when I got sober. - "Fuck you." I snap. When you're forced to mask Reality with Fantasy. The lifted layers finally unveil the tombstone of self. The biggest cities into the tiniest pebbles The massive ideas and thoughts formed into merely something to fear. A protagonist who already forgot his name Remembers He is a Daydreamer. Which is the only way to cope with life after multiple tragedies. And the fraud on fake friends faces. Only to daydream. As losing touch takes a toll on that rotting indulgence slowly. This get's quite horrific as it goes on. It's not to enjoy but to reflect on and experience. I decided to publish the draft version, because I don't think I can fully finish YWAADD final edition any time soon. I am in the worst mental and emotional state ever. It's quite a struggle and I suffer heavily. So yeah, the polished draft kind of holds up aswell too. The final one is way longer and eventful. So, um yeah I don't expect this to get attention at all, it's kind of really mid in some parts. But enjoy, or don't I guess. Yes this was inspired by Everywhere At The End Of Time. And other fan projects.
