15 year old Holly Huang, more than anything in the world wants to become a violinist but her fears that she won't have the motivation to pursue a career in it or anything for that matter because of her depression what doesn't help is that not only is her relationship with her mother difficult but her violin tutor, Giordano, is overly eccentric and uses strange metaphors to explain music and the violin. The most repeated however is "See the music" Throughout this book she attempts to understand what that means and hopes it can help her with her dream
