Valerie, a beautiful ginger haired girl, struggles getting out of a relationship with her boyfriend Kielce, who turns out to be a person she didn't think he could be, he becomes abusive, controlling and does a lot of other horrible stuff, meanwhile Rafe tries to befriend Valerie, look out for her, but catches feelings making them impossible to hide them. Valerie also gets mixed up in the whole drama kooks vs pogues, she struggled picking what side she should be by and how she should handle things.
