Wingless Flight

Sunlight illuminated the dark room, it was a lively morning. Yet, hollow eyes stared fixed at the ceiling. The women laid sprawled under the covers, her eyes hollow and dead.

'Chirp Chirp'
Her neck whipped towards the sound, her eyes paranoid. It was a pink creature full of fluff chirping her a song at the windowsill. It's a rheteé, a native bird unique to these lands. The bird chirped her song unaware of the fiercely staring pair of eyes, almost obsessively perhaps a bit envious.

How she longs....Freedom...free..free..free...

She sat up, the covers sliding down her bare body, shivering in the cool morning breeze. The sunlight caressed her body, mocking her. A beautiful body covered in red marks and purplish bruises. As she moved, a clinking sound was heard. The women paid no mind to this as she moved desperately towards the bed, her legs wobbling.

Freedom....Freedom....free...

'Chirp Chirp' the bird seemed to encourage her.

Free...free...free...
The women paused abruptly just an inch away from the window. She couldn't move forward. It was the limits her chains would allow her.

Freedom....free....

'Chirp Chirp' the bird it seemed had finished her song and flown away. Now it was just her standing in the silence.
