Book 2 in the Rootbridge Pack series. You DON'T need to have read book 1 in order to enjoy this. You'll find a plot summary for An Alpha's Alpha (Book 1) in Chapter 1. J, has been through a lot. A harrowing upbringing was followed by her and her pack being chased by a murderous alpha, Caine, who was intent on owning and destroying J's Alpha, Cassidy. Now, finally, after years of being on the run, J is...safe. She's always been on the outside, a lone wolf with just enough humanity left to attach herself to Cassidy and her pack, but now she's being offered a life in a loving, safe pack, with friends who are practically family. For anybody else it would be a good thing, a chance at happiness, but for J there's just one obstacle standing in her way: The King is dead, long live the King. She may have killed Caine, but his pack need an Alpha and right now, they think it's her. Realising the biggest threat to her pack is herself, J forces herself to leave and set out on her own. She should have known it would never be that easy. Whispers have travelled about Cassidy's protector. About the woman more wolf than most. * Alpha of the Blackoath pack, Logan Black, has been watching J for a while now. Sure, he tried to stop himself but his wolf is obsessed and so is he. Knowing he can never truly have her, he resigns himself to being her unofficial stalker, protector and guardian angel. So, when an underprepared alpha tries to capture her, he readies himself to go to her defence, but he should have known better. As he watches J destroy the pack who'd been sent to capture her, he realises that maybe, just maybe, he's found the only wolf in existence strong enough to match him. Strong enough to be his mate. Strong enough to kill him. However, when it comes down to it, Logan can't quite bring himself to ask the woman of his dreams to end his life, so instead lets her go - and that's where it all goes wrong.
Burning Moon by imanireverie

I turned around and stormed away, the heels of my feet pounding angrily down the silent hallway. Silent since nearly everyone had stopped to watch the scene we'd caused. Carrie shuffled to my side and was laughing to the point of tears. I almost started to laugh with her because it was pretty damn funny. But some words from that moron stopped me. "I don't like my girls on top. I always dominate, you'll see." The bastard hollered after me with a smirk plastered on that gorgeous face of his. I was already glaring at him when he started talking, and my anger got the best of me when he finished. So I went and punched him in his face again. ~*~ If you know Scarlett Cameron, you know she's the best. And so does she. Her air of confidence never wavers, being an Alpha's daughter and all. She's next in line to become Alpha of Burning Moon, the largest pack in the country, and some of the pack wolves are uneasy about it. Though she has incredible physical prowess, they're doubtful of having an Alpha who can't even shift. But Scarlett is determined to show them what she's made of... once she knows exactly what that is. Michael Dubois is the soon-to-be Alpha of his pack, well-known for his charming good looks and the narcissism that comes with them. He and his family were driven from California to Virginia because of the unthinkable: rogues and hunters working together. The mission is to form an alliance with the pack that runs the East Coast, but he has every intention of usurping their leader as soon as he becomes Alpha. Unbeknownst to him, the heir of Burning Moon can put up one hell of a fight.

Karydiarn Life hasn't exactly been a good one for me. I know I'm damaged. I know I'm messed up. But I also know that somewhere there might just be the possibility of a mate. And I'm dreading it. The commitment, responsibility, accountability, all the emotions and dug up dirt. I can't honestly say whether I'd be better off with or without a true mate but what matters for the strength of my pack to stay on top is to have strong leaders. So if I settle for another woman as my mate it's gonna be the most likely. Butting heads from the get go, Skye will never let go that there's so much more that she wants from the world, and refuses to acknowledge what she needs might be right in front of her. At the mention of him choosing me, anger flared up and I scoffed indignantly. "You chose me? You didn't. You blackmailed me to be with you!" Kingston's eyes turned hard and he warned, "By drinking the potion, you have agreed to be my chosen." I scoffed and glared up at him, "Because you threatened to kill my brother. He's fifteen! Would you really do that? Kill a fifteen year old to get what you want?" I demanded and Kingston simply looked at me with a passive expression. Highest Ranking: #4 in Werewolf 5/3/2016

"What are you?" He asks me, breaking the silence. I am quite shocked by this question. Mostly because I don't even know how to answer it. "Werewolf. I think... And you are a vampire," I state. He nods. "You don't smell like a werewolf." He lifts his hand to my neck, moving my hair aside, and looks at the bite mark on my shoulder. "And you don't taste like one." I breathe superficially, scared of what he might do next. "I would be lying if I said I didn't want to taste you again." He says, leaving his mouth slightly open. I just stare at him with wide scared eyes. He looks up from my wound and wink at me, causing him to smile a bit and show a fang. I blink a couple of times and swallow, trying to water my throat. He sees me struggling. "Need some extra saliva?" He almost laughs at me... Athena, an omega of the Blood Moon Pack, has her entire life ripped into pieces when she attacks the eldest son of the Alpha in an attempt to save her sister. Bitterness starts to flow through her, as she embarks on a journey to find other rogues like her. It is no easy task, and she has to make compromises and give up previous beliefs before she can claim the title of the Queen of the Rogues.
