This takes place years before Burns To Smithereens. In the first chapter Mr. Burns implies that he and Smithers had at one point shared a kiss. This was in reference to their kiss in "Lisa the Skeptic", but I figured it was vague enough that I could write a loose prequel chapter based on the implication.
