Grown up in the simple town of Forn, as the daughter to an innkeeper and ex-soldier, the youthful Marion Barwick aspires to become a soldier herself. Beaten down time and time again by life, she is eventually broken and takes on the role of innkeeper her father always hoped her to have. Here, she reunites with an old friend after losing her partner, who invited her to his wedding. The night before the wedding he confesses love to Marion, as well as his family-in-law's likely plans to murder him during the wedding ceremony in a coup of revenge on his family. Determined to save her love and live happily ever after, she elopes with him. Before they can make it off of the palace premise, he turns back to save his family. Now alone and grieving, Marion is left to pick up the pieces of her life to remind her she is worth of love, no matter what.

An homage to simple fantasy, short bittersweet romance stories and stories without teenage protagonists. This story is a short recollection of the life and mind of Marion Barwick, a simple woman in search of a meaning to her life after losing her partner. This romance novel is focused on self-discovery, family and found love. Based on a Dungeons & Dragons game.

~"When are you going to do what's best for you Sadie? All you ever do is what's best for Hallie and push your own wants and needs to the bottom of the pile and let it hurt everyone else in the process."~ Sadie Taylor has been back in her hometown for 6 short months. After leaving 11 years ago, it's fair to say that her life now is a 180 spin on the free innocent teenager she left as. With her 9 year old daughter, Hallie, in toe, Sadie needs to find a new kind of normality where se can release the reins of control and learn to let go a little. She's more than happy taking things at her own pace. Hoping that if she moves slow enough, she can keep her and her daughter in their own little bubble that has kept them safe all these years. But with the arrival of a familiar stranger arriving at Black Oak Ranch, things are set to be more complicated than she'd been counting on. Ryder Matthews fucked up and he knows it. 11 years ago, he left the love of his lie in some pre-college life freak out and when he returned 3 years later, she was gone. After spending the better part of 14 months travelling the world in hopes of finding some kind of meaning to life outside of the little town where every turn is a burning memory of Sadie, he returns with no hope. He's stuck to deal with his consequences. A week after his return home, Ryder heads to Jack Taylor's ranch to get his old farm hand job back. When he steps out of the car, a 9 year old girl greets him and when her mom comes to see what the fuss is all about, he's met with the last person he thought he'd ever see back in Alcombey. Let alone with a child. Ryder and Sadie have a lot of baggage to unpack if they have any hope of being able to tolerate working together. But when his heart is still beating for her and her heart is locked behind solid concrete walls, is that even possible?

When you are at your lowest there is only one thing you can do and that is to rise. Our protagonist went through some tough sh*t and then like a phoenix she was born again from her ashes. Every time someone tries to take you down you must not feel degraded or keep wallowing in self pity. Be the champion you wish for to come and rescue you. This story is about one of those people who choose to become their "Knight in shining armour" rather than waiting for one to show up. A sneak peek of what's inside. Have a look. I am sure you will like it. "Romantic dates, public declaration of love, standing by her side when going gets tough. Girls were jealous of her for getting such a loving and attentive mate or so she thought. It wasn't jealousy that seared their bond but the hidden truth that she stumbled upon. Daughter of an alpha, a girl who wears her heart on her sleeve, sheltered from world by her herculean father, over protective twin and annoying younger brother. A girl that looks at world in good faith. Sooner than later her faith was shredded to pieces. It happened a week before her 18th birthday. It was a moon less night but her pack was awash with light and cheer. It was for marking ceremony, where she would be marked by her mate and then after a private family gathering they were to leave for secluded wood that were sacred in its own way. It was a way to welcome her mate into the family and getting to know what was in store for him after they complete their mating when she turned eighteen. All in all it was a big day and she was supposed to be happiest person alive as nothing seem better then bonding to someone for life that makes you happy and love you for who you are. But alas! it was an illusion, a beautiful mirage that ended that day." To know what happened next you have to tag along, i will only say one thing, HELL HATH NO FURY LIKE A WOMEN SCORNED. ~SK.

The Atonement of a Writer

Lilianne Marineau, aka Lili, a struggling writer like you and me, wakes up to find herself in the body of Arielle Dumont, the female protagonist in her own, half-written novel. What would happen next? She sure as hell doesn't know. At first, all Lili wants to do is survive, and is overcome with the feeling that she had been bound by chains of her own making. Soon enough, though, she realizes she had been atoning for the wrong thing--and maybe, just maybe it was not her fault. A story of a writer who has to live as a character in a world she hasn't quite fully developed yet. A terrible writer with terrible concepts of magic in a fantasy world--and yes, there are glitches. TW: anxiety/depression/existential crisis esp in the earlier chapters, but quite mild, nothing we all haven't experienced before (I think anyone would reasonably panic in MC's situation). Still overall fairly lighthearted
