Set in a world of magical realism, this is a trilogy in the slash or m/m genre. Reggie Orrick, Philosophical Archeologist, is sent from Eastern Europe to Ireland, all in a bid for his mentor to lay claim to resurrecting the dragon line of Irish Snakesbanes. He meets Ian "Kelp" McGinty, an Unfortunate (born to Magus parents, he has no Magus abilities of his own) whose compelling personality draws Reggie in. The first novella of how they meet and get together, Surprised at Nothing, was originally published at Dreamspinner Press in 2015, and the contract reverted to me in 2020. The second and third novellas continue on in their world, bringing in more family and friends and some near-catastrophes. NC-17 rating for novellas 1 and 2, but not 3.
