The Phoenix on Firefly

Ashley had been sent to the Academy by her mother. Her mother no longer wanted a reminder of who Ashley's father was. One day Ashley decides to sneak into the records room and discovers the identity of her biological father and escapes the Academy, knowing that it's not what it seems. In order to fully escape their radar, Ashley is able to fake her death...thus taking on the persona of Phoenix when in the eyes of the public, but only those close know her as Ash...the Captain's daughter.
