I wanted to scream but I couldn't.

He had taken my voice.

If I even wanted to escape from this life, I was already his.

My body, my mind, it all belonged to him.

Till one day he left, without a word. I didn't know how to survive without him.

The Avengers came and 'rescued' me, but I couldn't live without him.

What would happen when he came back looking for me?

Tony smiled, clearly struggling to keep his voice steady as he hopped off his chair to kneel in front of me, taking my scarred hands in his rough ones. "Having you in our lives makes it more of an adventure. We wouldn't ever want you to leave, you are one of us okay? You're like a daughter to me, to all of us - hey, why are you crying?" "I'm sorry." I sniffled, roughly wiping the tears off my cheeks before I let him wrap me up in a hug. "I just never felt like belonged anywhere before and to hear you say that... it just means a lot to me." "Well, it's true Emily." Bruce smiled back as he put his hand on my shoulder as I kept my head buried into Tony's chest, saturating his shirt with my tears.
