When a werewolf finds his/her mate, it is meant to be the most incredible experience of their lives. Their souls become one, their wolves are instantly attracted and protective of their mates and they see no one else they way they see their mate.
If a werewolf does not agree with the Moon Goddess, he or she has the option to reject them at the risk of being alone forever, their wolf possibly dying or going insane, or on the rare occasion, they take a chosen mate, one they choose for themselves. It's to protect Levi from those that are out to destroy the last, surviving member. Damon Jacobs, who is also the upcoming Alpha, is already 18 and has a beautiful, huge black wolf named Jasper. Damon and Levi and used to be best friends with Damon until he turned 13 and decided he liked girls, just not Levi.
